Canva template: 1. The Canva template I chose is similar in design to the first infographic that I found on Google. The first infographic is on gut health (maintaining a good digestive system).
2.It has hierarchy - My eyes begin at the top, and go down from there. It is both relevant and accurate, but does not include contrast. 3. 1) Ways to Get Good Sleep (includes data from studies and experiments related to sleep cycles) 2) Peet's Coffee vs. Starbucks (stats on more customers, price of drinks, etc.) 3) Change in extremity of temperatures in US winters (line chart showing trends).

1. UX Designer - $78,300(0.8)=$62,640
2. federal taxes = $62,640(0.78)=$48,859.2 3. state taxes = none (Washington) 4. $48,859.2(12)=$4,071.6 Questions: 1. UX Designer, the base salary is $62,640. 2. Washington, no state income taxes. 3. Federal tax burden = $12,528 4. $4,071.6 5. Yes, I think I would be losing about half my salary to rent, transportation, etc. but still be able to live comfortably after that. 6. Yes and no, in overbearing tax states, I will also earn more (for instance in CA Bay Area, I would earn a lot more than in the midwest, so I think the taxes even out. However, I think Seattle is attractive because it's pay is similar to the Bay Area but there are no state taxes. 7. Education, public transportation, infrastructure, libraries, and health services. 1. Yes, I think it's very useful as InDesign is a great tool for creating flyers, magazine layouts etc. It can be used to advertise and in the professional setting too.
3. Three things would be flyers, brochures, and magazine pages. 1. One thing that inspired me from the Ted talk was how Hooge talked about the advancement and importance of design and tech, and how design is revolutionizing the way we use the web.
2. The things that inspire me are my family, my friends and music. 1. The illustrations use both serif and sans serif fonts, and the sizes vary.
2. The first illustration has only one font, but the other two have many different fonts types. 3. The first one features a silhouette of a drop using text, the second one blends text and illustration, and the last one has little icons that work around the text. Reflection:
1. I am in the top right, to represent how all the different places I come from lead up to me, or make me who I am. 2. I chose to 'cut' my face into two custom shapes, and I wanted the paper with my quote to go in-between as it sort of reflects the fact that everywhere I come from is remembered within me. 3. I changed the opacity on the clouds in the background, as well as the clouds in front of the Golden Gate Bridge, and also on the butterflies. 4. I used the gradient tool with the clouds in the background. 5. I included the words, "I am simply a mosaic of the places I come from," which I thought would be fitting of the collage and is a saying I resonate with because of all the places I'v been to and lived in. 6. I used color - I had a distinct color palette, mostly consisting of blues, whites and oranges. I used space to ensure that all my buildings took the right amount of space, and that the clouds filled up any weird empty spaces. I also used shape to crop and put together the different images. 7. I mostly used balance and alignment as those are reflected in the arrangement of different images and where I used the clouds. 8. The collage from the top rights begins with some of the buildings I grew up around, and then it cascades down to the buildings that are around me now. Mostly, it is a reflection of all the places I have lived in and the different landmarks that were near me. The flowers and butterflies reflect how I like nature, and I chose blue as the predominant color because it's calm and mellow. |
